Matcha and White Chocolate S'mores Tart
A delightful dessert that combines the earthy flavor of matcha green tea with the sweetness of white chocolate and the crunch of graham crackers.
Ingredients
For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
For the Matcha and White Chocolate Filling:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
For the S'mores Topping:
- 4-6 graham crackers, crushed
- 1 cup marshmallows
- Whipped cream and additional matcha powder for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Stir in the melted butter until the mixture forms a crumbly dough.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until set. Allow to cool completely.
Matcha and White Chocolate Filling:
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over low heat until it starts to simmer.
- Remove from heat and pour over the white chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
- Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Stir in the matcha powder and granulated sugar.
Assembly:
- Spread the cooled tart crust with the matcha and white chocolate filling.
- Top with crushed graham crackers.
- Arrange marshmallows on top of the filling.
- Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the marshmallows are lightly toasted.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.
Garnish:
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of matcha powder, if desired.
