Matcha and White Chocolate S'mores Tart

A unique twist on the classic s'mores, featuring matcha green tea and white chocolate.

Matcha and White Chocolate S'mores Tart

A delightful dessert that combines the earthy flavor of matcha green tea with the sweetness of white chocolate and the crunch of graham crackers.

Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

For the Matcha and White Chocolate Filling:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

For the S'mores Topping:

  • 4-6 graham crackers, crushed
  • 1 cup marshmallows
  • Whipped cream and additional matcha powder for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture forms a crumbly dough.
  4. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until set. Allow to cool completely.

Matcha and White Chocolate Filling:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over low heat until it starts to simmer.
  2. Remove from heat and pour over the white chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
  3. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  4. Stir in the matcha powder and granulated sugar.

Assembly:

  1. Spread the cooled tart crust with the matcha and white chocolate filling.
  2. Top with crushed graham crackers.
  3. Arrange marshmallows on top of the filling.
  4. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the marshmallows are lightly toasted.
  5. Allow to cool completely before serving.

Garnish:

  1. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of matcha powder, if desired.
