Ingredients:

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon saffron threads, soaked in 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 6 slices of bread (preferably challah or brioche)
  • Fresh berries and maple syrup for topping

Instructions:

Make the Waffle Batter:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and melted butter.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
