Starlight Meringue Clouds
Ingredients
- 3 large egg whites
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon rose petal jelly
- 1 tablespoon pistachio meal
- 1/4 cup (30g) toasted pistachios, chopped
- Confectioners' sugar for dusting
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare the Baking Sheet
Preheat your oven to 200°F (90°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Make the Meringue Batter
In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy. Add the cream of tartar and salt; continue beating until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks hold their shape.
Step 3: Add the Rose Petal Jelly and Pistachio Meal
Add the rose petal jelly and pistachio meal to the meringue batter. Beat gently until just combined, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
Step 4: Spoon the Meringue Batter onto the Baking Sheet
Spoon the meringue batter into a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe small, round shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
Step 5: Toast the Pistachios and Assemble
Toast the pistachios in a 350°F (180°C) oven for 5-7 minutes, or until fragrant. Allow to cool completely before chopping them coarsely. Place a toasted pistachio on top of each meringue shape.
Step 6: Serve
Dust the Starlight Meringue Clouds with confectioners' sugar and serve immediately.
