Spicy Sesame-Crusted Tuna Steaks with Mango Salsa

A vibrant and flavorful dish featuring seared tuna steaks coated in a spicy sesame crust, topped with a refreshing mango salsa.

Ingredients:

  • 2 (6 oz) fresh tuna steaks, patted dry
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • For the Mango Salsa:
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the sesame seeds, sriracha sauce, grated ginger, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Rub the mixture evenly onto both sides of the tuna steaks.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked to your liking (medium-rare is recommended).
  5. Remove the tuna steaks from the skillet and set aside to rest for a few minutes.
  6. While the tuna is resting, combine all the salsa ingredients in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. To serve, place the seared tuna steaks on plates and top generously with the mango salsa.
