Spicy Salmon Burgers with Avocado Lime Crema

A vibrant and flavorful take on salmon burgers, featuring a spicy kick and cooling avocado lime crema.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed and flaked
  • ½ cup cooked quinoa
  • ¼ cup chopped red onion
  • ¼ cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Avocado Lime Crema:
    • 1 ripe avocado, mashed
    • ¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
    • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
    • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the salmon patties: In a large bowl, combine flaked salmon, quinoa, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until well combined. Form into 4 patties.
  2. Cook the patties: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil the skillet. Cook the salmon patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Make the avocado lime crema: In a small bowl, combine mashed avocado, sour cream or Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Assemble the burgers: Spread avocado lime crema on the burger buns. Top with a cooked salmon patty. Add your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, or pickled onions. Enjoy!
