Spicy Pineapple and Prosciutto Flatbread Pizza
Servings: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
- 1 lb flatbread (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/2 cup caramelized pineapple (see note)
- 6 slices prosciutto, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh arugula
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the flatbread:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Place the flatbread on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Top the flatbread:
- Spread the caramelized pineapple over the flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Arrange the chopped prosciutto on top of the pineapple.
- Sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the prosciutto.
- Add fresh arugula leaves on top.
Bake and serve:
- Bake the flatbread in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with shaved Parmesan cheese (if using).
- Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve immediately.
Notes:
- To caramelize pineapple, cook it in a pan over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and tender.
- Gluten-free alternatives: Replace the flatbread with gluten-free flatbreads or substitute with cauliflower crust pizza.
