Ingredients:
For the scones:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 - 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
 - 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
 - 1/2 cup buttermilk
 - 1 large egg, lightly beaten
 - 1 ripe pear, peeled, cored, and diced

For the cardamom glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
 - 2 tablespoons milk
 - 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.
 - Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
 - In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk and egg. Add to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced pear.
 - Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for just a few seconds. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle. Use a sharp knife or biscuit cutter to cut out scones. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each scone.
 - Brush the tops of the scones with milk. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
 - While the scones are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and cardamom in a small bowl until smooth.
 - Once the scones are out of the oven, drizzle generously with the cardamom glaze. Serve warm and enjoy!
