Ingredients:
- Filling:
- 4 ripe but firm pears, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Crumble Topping:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the diced pears, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Toss to coat.
- Pour the pear mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, ginger, and salt for the crumble topping. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the pear filling.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
