Ingredients:
- For the Blondies:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup diced ripe pears
- For the Honey Glaze:
- ½ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Gently fold in the diced pears.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the blondies are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together honey and milk in a small saucepan over low heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat.
- Once the blondies are baked, let cool slightly before drizzling with the honey glaze. Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
