Ingredients:
For the Filling:
- 3 ripe but firm pears, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
For the Crumble Topping:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, chilled and diced
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the diced pears, cranberries, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat.
- Pour the pear and cranberry mixture into the prepared baking pan.
- In a separate bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt for the crumble topping. Cut in the chilled butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble evenly over the pear and cranberry filling.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crumble is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.
Optional: Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
