Ingredients:

  • For the scones:

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, chilled and diced
    • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
    • 1 large orange, zested and juiced
    • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • For the pistachio glaze:

    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 tablespoon milk
    • 1 teaspoon pistachio extract
    • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cut in butter: Add the chilled diced butter to the dry ingredients and use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in cranberries and orange: Stir in the dried cranberries and orange zest.
