Smoked Cherry Bourbon Sparkler
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Smoked Cherry Bourbon (see note)
- 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
- 4 oz Sparkling Wine (e.g., Prosecco or Champagne)
- Dash of Orange Bitters
- Ice
- Lime wheel, for garnish
Note:
To make Smoked Cherry Bourbon, combine 1 cup bourbon, 1/2 cup cherry jam, and 1 tsp smoked sea salt in a saucepan. Heat over low heat, whisking until the jam dissolves. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean glass bottle. Let it infuse at room temperature for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Instructions:
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine smoked cherry bourbon, lime juice, and simple syrup.
- Shake vigorously for about 10-12 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients.
- Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with ice.
- Top the drink off with sparkling wine.
- Add a dash of orange bitters on top.
- Garnish with a lime wheel.
Notes:
- This recipe makes one serving, but it's easily scalable for larger gatherings or parties.
- For an added twist, garnish with a cherry instead of a lime wheel to match the Smoked Cherry Bourbon flavor profile.
- You can adjust the amount of simple syrup based on your desired level of sweetness.
