Raspberry and Pistachio Crème Brûlée
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup raspberry jam
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh raspberries
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
- Salt to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Crème Brûlée Base
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the heavy cream, granulated sugar, and flour. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
Step 3: Add Flavorings
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the milk and vanilla extract. Let it cool slightly.
Step 4: Mix in Raspberry and Pistachio Mixture
In a separate bowl, whisk together the raspberry jam, chopped raspberries, and pistachios. Fold this mixture into the cooled crème brûlée base until well combined.
Step 5: Pour the Mixture into Ramekins
Pour the mixture into 6 ramekins or small baking dishes.
Step 6: Bake the Crème Brûlée
Place the ramekins in a large baking dish and add hot water to come halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until set.
Step 7: Chill the Crème Brûlée
Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Step 8: Caramelize Sugar on Top
Just before serving, sprinkle a thin layer of granulated sugar over the top of each chilled crème brûlée. Caramelize the sugar using a kitchen torch or under the broiler until golden brown.
Serve chilled and enjoy!
