Minty Matcha Madness Mousse
Description
A refreshing and unique dessert that combines the bright flavors of mint and matcha with a light and airy mousse. Perfect for warm weather or as a sweet treat any time of the year.
Ingredients
For the Mousse:
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 cups (400ml) heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 8 ounces (225g) dark chocolate, finely chopped
For the Garnish:
- Fresh mint leaves
- Matcha powder
- Dark chocolate shavings
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cream, matcha powder, and salt. Whisk to combine.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from heat and stir in the peppermint extract. Let cool slightly.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth.
- Fold the melted chocolate into the cooled cream mixture until fully incorporated.
- Pour the mousse into individual serving cups or a large serving dish.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until set.
Serving Suggestions
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves, matcha powder, and dark chocolate shavings.
- Serve chilled.
- Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
