Minty Matcha Madness Mousse

Description

A refreshing and unique dessert that combines the bright flavors of mint and matcha with a light and airy mousse. Perfect for warm weather or as a sweet treat any time of the year.

Ingredients

For the Mousse:

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 cups (400ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 8 ounces (225g) dark chocolate, finely chopped

For the Garnish:

  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Matcha powder
  • Dark chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cream, matcha powder, and salt. Whisk to combine.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture reaches 160°F (71°C).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the peppermint extract. Let cool slightly.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth.
  5. Fold the melted chocolate into the cooled cream mixture until fully incorporated.
  6. Pour the mousse into individual serving cups or a large serving dish.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until set.

Serving Suggestions

  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves, matcha powder, and dark chocolate shavings.
  • Serve chilled.
  • Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
