Matcha and White Chocolate Tiramisu

A creative twist on the classic Italian dessert, incorporating matcha powder and white chocolate into a unique tiramisu experience.

Matcha and White Chocolate Tiramisu

Ingredients

  • 12-16 ladyfingers
  • 1 cup of strong brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of unsweetened matcha powder
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips, melted

Instructions

Prepare the Coffee Syrup

  • In a large bowl, whisk together coffee and matcha powder until well combined.
  • Set aside to cool.

Make the Mascarpone Mixture

  • In another large bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • Stir in the cooled coffee mixture.

Dip Ladyfingers

  • Dip ladyfingers into the coffee mixture for about 3-5 seconds on each side. They should be soft and pliable but not too wet.
  • Place them in a large serving dish, cutting some of them to fit the edges of the pan.
  • You can trim any excess ladyfinger as you go.

Make the White Chocolate Mousse

  • In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, melt white chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between intervals until smooth and creamy.
  • Fold the melted white chocolate into the whipped cream.

Assemble Tiramisu

  • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  • Top with half of the white chocolate mousse.
  • Repeat this process: layering the ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and finally the remaining white chocolate mousse.
  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.

Serve

  • Slice and serve.
