Matcha Green Tea Waffles with White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Crumble

Ingredients:
For the Waffles:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup matcha green tea powder (ceremonial grade)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Crumble:
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Instructions:
Make the Waffles:
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, matcha powder, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- The batter should still be slightly lumpy.
Make the White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Crumble:
- In a small bowl, combine the white chocolate chips, chopped macadamia nuts, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
Assemble and Serve:
- Cook the waffles according to your iron's instructions.
- Split the cooked waffles in half horizontally using a serrated knife.
- Place a scoop of whipped cream or ice cream on top of each waffle half, followed by a spoonful of white chocolate and macadamia nut crumble.
- Top with another waffle half and serve immediately.
Note: You can also make the crumble ahead of time and store it in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Simply sprinkle the mixture over the whipped cream or ice cream before serving.
