Matcha Green Tea Blondies with White Chocolate and Pistachio
Introduction
These matcha-infused blondies are a refreshing take on traditional treats. The subtle bitterness of green tea perfectly complements the sweetness of white chocolate, while crunchy pistachios add a delightful textural contrast.
Ingredients
For the Blondies:
- 2 1/4 cups (285g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the White Chocolate Glaze:
- 1 cup (200g) white chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp heavy cream
Toppings:
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh pistachios
- Matcha powder for dusting (optional)
Instructions
Preheat and Prepare Pans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Make the Blondies: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Pour into the prepared pan.
Bake the Blondies: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely in the pan.
Prepare White Chocolate Glaze: Melt white chocolate chips with heavy cream over low heat, stirring occasionally until smooth. Set aside to thicken slightly.
Assemble and Top Blondies: Cut cooled blondie into bars or squares, then dip the tops into the melted white chocolate. Sprinkle chopped pistachios onto wet chocolate. If desired, dust lightly with matcha powder for a pop of green color.
Tips
- To enhance the matcha flavor in your blondies, make sure to sift the dry ingredients after mixing them.
- Store these treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or wrap individually and freeze for longer storage.
