Maple Pecan Waffles

Crispy waffles infused with the warmth of maple syrup and the crunch of pecans, perfect for a weekend breakfast.

Maple Pecan Waffles

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat and Prep

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Step 2: Whisk Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, and melted butter until well combined.

Step 3: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 4: Fold in Pecans

Gently fold in chopped pecans.

Step 5: Cook Waffles

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the center of the waffle iron. Spread it out slightly to the edges, but don't overfill the iron. Close the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.

Step 6: Serve

Serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as fresh fruit, whipped cream, or a drizzle of maple syrup.

Variations:

  • For an extra crunchy top, sprinkle some granulated sugar on the batter before cooking.
  • To make this recipe more decadent, add a handful of chocolate chips or shaved dark chocolate to the batter.
