Ingredients
Base Layer
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Crumble Topping
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
Base Layer
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
Mix together the flour, sugar, and softened butter until it forms a crumbly mixture. Press this mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
Crumble Topping
While the base layer is baking, prepare the crumble topping by mixing together the softened butter, shredded coconut, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until you get a crumbly mixture. Fold in the chopped pecans.
Once the base layer is ready, spread this crumble topping evenly over it. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Cooling
Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
