Coconut Lime Churros

Crunchy churros infused with the flavors of coconut and lime, perfect for a tropical dessert.

Coconut Lime Churros

Servings: 12

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Confectioners' sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to 375°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add melted butter, egg, shredded coconut, and lime zest to the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix until a dough forms.
  5. Using a piping bag or a plastic bag with a corner cut off, pipe long strips of dough into hot oil.
  6. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve warm.
