Coconut Caramel Panna Cotta
A rich and creamy panna cotta infused with the flavors of coconut and caramel.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250ml) heavy cream
- 1/2 cup (125g) granulated sugar
- 1 can (14 oz) full-fat coconut milk, chilled
- 1 tsp (5g) kosher salt
- 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (60g) caramel sauce
Instructions
Step 1: Soak the Gelatin
Place 1 tablespoon (15g) of gelatin in a small bowl and add 2 tablespoons (30ml) of water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
Step 2: Make the Panna Cotta Mixture
In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, granulated sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and add the softened gelatin, stirring until it's fully dissolved.
Step 3: Mix with Coconut Milk
Pour in the chilled coconut milk and whisk until well combined.
Step 4: Add Caramel Sauce
Whisk in the caramel sauce until smooth.
Step 5: Pour into Molds
Pour the mixture into small individual molds or a large serving dish. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until set.
Step 6: Serve
Serve chilled, garnished with toasted coconut flakes and a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.
Note: You can also flavor the panna cotta with other extracts like almond or coconut to give it a unique twist!
