Ingredients:
For the filling:
- 6 apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
For the crumble:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
For the cinnamon swirl:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Filling
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and salt.
- Mix until the apples are evenly coated with the dry ingredients.
- Add in the unsalted butter and mix until the apples are well combined.
Step 2: Prepare the Crumble
- In a separate mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cold butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Use your fingers or a pastry blender to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

- Transfer the apple filling to a 9x9-inch baking dish.
