Ingredients:

For the cinnamon swirl:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the apple filling:

  • 6-8 medium-sized apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the crumble topping:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and cinnamon for the cinnamon swirl.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly over a large piece of parchment paper or a lightly floured surface.
  4. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
  5. Cut the dough into long strips, about 1 inch wide.
  6. In a separate large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the apple filling.
  7. Transfer the apple mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  8. Roll out the cinnamon swirl dough on top of the apple mixture, weaving it into the crumble topping.
  9. In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats, brown sugar, cold butter, and cinnamon for the crumble topping.
  10. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the top of the apple filling and cinnamon swirl.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  12. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream if desired.

  • You can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste preferences.
  • If you want a crispy cinnamon swirl, bake it for an additional 5-10 minutes before adding the apple mixture.
