A twist on traditional cinnamon rolls, these waffles feature a sweet cream cheese glaze and caramelized apples.

Ingredients:

For the Waffles:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

For the Caramelized Apples:

  • 2 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

Make the Waffles:

  1. Preheat your waffle iron to medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, and cinnamon.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Cook the waffles according to your iron's instructions.

Make the Cream Cheese Glaze:

  1. Beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until combined.
  3. Add heavy cream and beat until glaze reaches desired consistency.

Caramelize the Apples:

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced apples and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until caramelized.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar over the apples during the last minute of cooking.

Assembly

  • Top waffles with a dollop of cream cheese glaze and a spoonful of caramelized apples.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
