Cinnamon Roll Waffles
A delightful breakfast or brunch treat that combines the fluffiness of a cinnamon roll with the crispy texture of a waffle.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- The batter should still be slightly lumpy. If it's too smooth, it will result in dense waffles.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the center of the waffle iron.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as whipped cream, caramel sauce, or fresh fruit.
Variations
- Add some chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter for added flavor and texture.
- Replace the granulated sugar with brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
- Use different types of milk, such as almond or soy milk, for a dairy-free version.
