Servings: 8-10

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes

Ingredients:

For the brownie crust:

  • 1 cup salted caramel brownies, crumbled (see note)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the cinnamon apple filling:

  • 6-8 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the whipped cream:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Prepare the brownie crust:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the crumbled brownies, granulated sugar, flour, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom.

2. Make the cinnamon apple filling:

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until the apples are evenly coated with the dry ingredients. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.

3. Assemble and bake the galette:

Arrange the apple slices on top of the brownie crust, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Fold the edges of the dough up over the filling to create a crust.

Bake the galette at 375°F (190°C) for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.

4. Prepare the whipped cream:

In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add the confectioners' sugar and vanilla extract, and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

Tips and Variations:

  • For an extra crispy crust, bake the galette for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  • To make individual servings, use mini tart pans or ramekins.
  • Substitute other types of fruit, such as peaches or berries, for a different flavor combination.

Note:

To make salted caramel brownies, follow your favorite recipe and add a pinch of flaky sea salt to the batter.
