Cinnamon Apple Galette with Caramel Pecan Crumble

A sweet and savory twist on traditional apple galette, topped with a crunchy caramel pecan crumble.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • Caramel Pecan Crumble (see below)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
  4. Spoon the apple mixture onto one half of the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around it.
  5. Fold the other half of the pastry over the apples and press the edges together to seal.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.

Caramel Pecan Crumble

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until crumbly.

Assembly and Serving

  1. Let the galette cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  2. Sprinkle the Caramel Pecan Crumble over the top of the galette.
  3. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
