Ingredients
- 2 large apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
- Caramel Pecan Crumble (see below)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
- Spoon the apple mixture onto one half of the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around it.
- Fold the other half of the pastry over the apples and press the edges together to seal.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
Caramel Pecan Crumble
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until crumbly.
Assembly and Serving
- Let the galette cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Sprinkle the Caramel Pecan Crumble over the top of the galette.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
