Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Stuffed Apple Crumble

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Stuffed Apple Crumble

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 medium-sized apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup cookie dough (see below for recipe)
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Cookie Dough:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
  3. Pour melted butter over the apple mixture and toss until coated.
  4. Transfer apple mixture to a 9x9-inch baking dish.

Assembly:

  1. Roll out cookie dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  2. Cut dough into strips, approximately 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.
  3. Place cookie dough strips on top of apple mixture in an overlapping pattern.
  4. Sprinkle rolled oats and brown sugar evenly over the cookie dough.

Baking:

  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  2. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Cookie Dough Notes:

  • Chill cookie dough in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Cut cookies into desired shapes using a cookie cutter before baking.
