Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

These decadent brownies are the perfect treat for anyone with a sweet tooth. With chunks of cookie dough and chocolate chips scattered throughout, they're sure to satisfy any craving.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 sticks of unsalted butter, plus more for greasing the pan
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of cookie dough (see below for recipe)

Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup of confectioners' sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and set it aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set it aside.
  3. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Press half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Dollop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top of the brownie layer.
  8. Top with the remaining brownie batter and smooth out the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  10. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • To make the cookie dough, simply beat together the butter, confectioners' sugar, flour, vanilla extract, and salt until a smooth dough forms. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • If you're feeling extra decadent, sprinkle some chopped nuts or sea salt on top of the brownies before baking for added texture and flavor.
