- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Crust
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add cold butter and use a pastry blender to break it down into small pieces.
- Gradually add ice water while stirring with a fork until dough comes together in a ball.
- Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the Filling

- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- Place the dough into a 9-inch pie dish, trimming any excess from the edges.

- Bake the pie for 40-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and apples are tender.

- Combine heavy cream, granulated sugar, and unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir occasionally until the mixture thickens slightly and turns a deep amber color.
- Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Step 5: Serve
- Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the top of each slice, if desired.
