Caramel Apple Pecan Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of fresh apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith)
- 1/2 cup of light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp of nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup of caramel sauce (grade A)
- 1 cup of pecan halves
Instructions:
Prepare the Crust
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly. Stir in chopped pecans.
Press mixture into a 9-inch pie dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Prepare the Filling
In a separate bowl, combine sliced apples, light brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well to coat apples evenly.
Pour caramel sauce over the apples and mix until coated.
Assemble and Bake
Transfer apple mixture into the baked crust. Top with additional chopped pecans if desired.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until filling is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
Serve warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
