Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider syrup
  • Confectioners' sugar for dusting
  • White chocolate glaze (see below)
  • Macadamia nuts for garnish

Instructions

Apple Cider Syrup

  • Combine 1 cup water and 1 cup granulated sugar in a saucepan.
  • Add 2 tablespoons apple cider and stir to combine.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Donuts

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  • Add melted butter, egg, and apple cider syrup. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop dough into hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot.
  • Fry donuts for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain.

White Chocolate Glaze

  • Melt 1 cup white chocolate chips in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth.
  • Drizzle glaze over donuts while still warm.

Assembly

  • Dust donuts with confectioners' sugar.
  • Top each donut with a piece of macadamia nut and drizzle with white chocolate glaze.
  • Serve immediately.
