- 2 large apples, peeled and chopped

Instructions
Make the Donuts
- In a medium saucepan, combine apple cider and granulated sugar over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes or until syrupy.
- Let cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add melted butter, egg, and apple cider mixture to the dry ingredients.
- Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Proof and Cut
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap.
- Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Preheat oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down dough and roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Use a donut cutter or glass to cut out circles of dough.
Fry the Donuts
- Carefully place donuts in hot oil, 3-4 at a time.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
Make the Cinnamon Swirl
- In a small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon.
- Sprinkle evenly over donuts before frying.
Make the Salted Caramel Dipping Sauce
- Melt caramel candies in a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl.
- Stir in sea salt until combined.
Assembly
- Dust warm donuts with confectioners' sugar.
- Serve immediately with salted caramel dipping sauce and cinnamon swirl on top.
